I listen to something most of the times. But it depends on what I am drawing. If itīs supposed to be diabolical, I usually listen to some metal, or hard rock or orchestral epic strange evil songs (I donīt have better description). And when I am in normal mood, I listen to ancient rock (ancient means 80s ).
Oh... well, donīt blame the music for my bad art, k? Itīs not its fault!! I love to listen to soundtracks, like Hans Zimmerīs ones, or Alan Silvestri(Van Helsing ), Randy Edelman (DRagonheart!!!!!), JOhn Powell, PHillip Glass, John Williams, something like Wojciej Kilar... they are great. Also, Evanescence, and Pink Floyd, Queen... Oh, and Classical too!!! Tchaikovsky, I love you! Music is just amazing!
I listen to a lot of instrumental soundtracks, like; Brand X, Immediate, Alan Silvestri, Brian Tyler, Clint Mansell, Carter Burwell, etc. Other than that, I have a very eclectic music sense and listen to just about everything. A lot of alternative.
Mostly soundtracks. James Horner, Hans Zimmer, Yoko Kanno Nobuo Uematsu, Kow Otani, and a lot of the instrumental music from Disney soundtracks (Hunchback of Notre Dame FTW). But it greatly depends on what I'm drawing... If I'm doing art of my fantasy characters than I will go with any of the above mentioned or anything of its likeness (I have a lot XD). If I'm doing something more modern I'll play Tool, VAST, Rammstein, Radiohead, Pearl Jam, NIN, Ozzy Osbourne, Bjork, Madonna, Scissor Sisters, Pink Floyd, Deftones...ahgawd. I could really go on forever. X3 If I'm doodling stupid crap for fun I'll totally play Caramelldansen over and over and over again XDDD heheheh
