I was actually reading up on it the other day and the CEO said somehting akin to "people approached the game with a western perspective, it is hard to tell a good story with an open world" but I mean... 13.. by far was the most linear of them all. Even the very first one.
Anyways... all my opinion, gunna stop ranting now x3

And come to think of it, just yesterday I watched the Arby 'n' the Chief episode which had the pop-up message along the lines of "Register on our website now to participate in a pointless Best Character poll where Cloud and Sephiroth ALWAYS win."
So sorry to sound a bit depressed, but I just think Final Fantasy is just a teensy bit overrated. It's good. I get it. Still, it's overrated. It's impossible to make an interesting poll when anything even remotely related to FF is one of the options.
