When I paint, I do nature-based things because I really don't feel like painting anything else, but I'm drawn towards watercolour anime-style When I sketch, it is usually fantasy ie OC, fanbook or proportions.
I do both photography and leatherwork (though I haven't been active in either recently, unfortunately). With photography, I've had some success with manipulating my images for fantastic purposes, but as the archetypal broke university student, affording the costuming, props, etc. (to say nothing of time and energy) to do the sort of unmanipulated fantasy photography I really want to do just hasn't been feasible.
My leatherwork skills are slowly approaching the point where I'll be able to get around that, at least partly, by making armor, masks, etc. myself. Technically, I could do it now, but I'm still not really happy enough with my final products.
I'm bad with traditional arts like painting and sculpturing, but I like to doodle. I don't really have the patience to sit down for a long long time focusing on just one thing - I tend to drift off easily and have the habit of multi-tasking. I prefer to do rough sketches when I draw, usually how my characters would look like in the stories that I wrote. I do try to draw a bit of manga - but I'm too lazy to complete them. Now they are just a pile of sketch works piled up at a corner of my table.
When I write stories, I do not like to give long explanations or descriptions at one-shot (beat around the bushes unnecessarily) but I will definitely tell you bit by bit throughout the story. I'm a rather straightforward person. Also, sometimes we do have to give the readers some room for their own imaginations and this also tightens how your plot flows, ne?
i know what you mean mate cus I write stories aswell. am currently on part 2 of a trilogy im writing. maybe you could upload some pages for me to read cus i dont know anyone else that writes near me so have no-one to help without just reader feedback.
it not uploaded cus I getting feedback from 'Beta Readers' aka friends whilst writing part 2. Part 1 'Seals of the Dragon' may be uploaded some day but only when I think it is ready, and figure out how to upload the story. Part 2 is called 'The Immortal's Shadow' though and is not even half way done so it may be some time.
