Using the word "duel" implies one-on-one fighting, in which ranged weapons (like archery) are NOT the way to go. In this case, then, I'd probably chose a sword or something of that nature (though I chose staff weapons due to personal preference).

I can't seem to choose. I'm a martial artist, so it's usually hand to hand combat for me. But if it were a fantasy sci-fi fight I'd be a weapons master :L

Throwing knives, as I am rather skilled in their use. They nullify the effectiveness of a lot of weaponry. Magic or the force would trump them, but, I'm a pragmatic person. I want the realistic response to a duel-type situation, which I would not suppose I'd want to get into with guns. The object of throwing knives is typically not to kill, in my mind, as it's easy to disarm an opponent and eliminate their ability to fight back. A well-landed knife in the shoulder, or splitting your biceps, would be one of the more painful things you'd ever experience in life.

Besides they're freakin underrated so it's not like anyone's scared when I pull out my little six inch long knives when they have a sword they'd be in the mindset that I was a free kill once they got close...
