I'm so so. I like tech, but lately I've been more into magic. Depends.
Though, a combo... OOhhh... now that's fun. (not a high tech wond, like a robot, that can do magic stuffs, that can be described as scientific, but yet... it's magic, the science works with it. same for magic. works with tech.)
*Because it is more spiritually based and harmonious. *With science, you take things apart, but with magic, there is always imagination, preservation, and creation. *Although if you've read "Young Wizards" by Diane Duane, wizardy is simply tampering or working with physics. In that world they can play with the speed of light by bending the space around it. Oh, and they use the Speech communicate, tamper with, or to create spells (or software as it is alluded to).
"Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic." - Arthur C. Clarke
And having this said, why is there no 'Both' option? Having magic AND technology connected is best, because when magic = avsum & technology = avsum, then magic*technology=awesomeness^2
I voted technology; I want both, but given a choice between a crystal ball or a TV screen and a small army of robots with cameras, or a flying carpet vs. a flying car....
Magic has less limitations than technology. Plus sci-fi writing can be v. tricky/cheesy. magic is nice because its not human-made, its more ....dreamy ....i dunno I just prefer to use it then technology in my photography/writing. (that said steampunk is awesome! ^^)
Because there are nothing, that magic will not be able to do)) And it doesnt' need some scientific explanation)) You should only speak some words, make some gesture...voila! There is rabbit in your hat!
