Talk about slow, I don't know if there will be like 5 messages from me or none at all, I fav'd the article but dA wouldn't get my comment to show. Even refreshing and closing that tab and going back from another, still the same cr*p Ah hhh
Not at all, it is about helping promote artists from all styles, skills and medias. deviantART has become so big that it is hard to get exposure, as new submissions are pushed pages back within seconds. So this group overs the same options as the site but with a slower pace so the artist is able to get more exposure, and the enthusiasts actually have the time to discover and enjoy the artwork.
deviantART has over 14.5 million members, so I don't imagine our group galleries will be nearly as busy as deviantART as a whole; even if we were to have a lot of Members in our group.
I run some groups both large and small in regards to Members. And in all of them Members have plenty of time to browse the galleries, while also getting the opportunity to appreciate new art submitted daily.
A community for Members, by Members. With a focus on promotion the artist, through sharing this artwork with others and reaching a wider audience. It doesn't get much better than that
Helping promote artists and introduce their work to new enthusiasts is never pointless. But you are entitled to your own opinion.
deviantART has a great system and structure, but with millions of deviants submitting daily it is extremely difficult for work to be seen. So this group aims to help promote the artist and their work to help them gain more exposure, at a pace that everyone can enjoy.
