No time, money, bandwidth, or computing power for MMORPG/ No Patience or friends for table top---{Unless MtG Trading Card Game Counts}--- ---(though if they got something like an atuo-mated version where you don't have to keep tract of all your characters stat's in only pen & Paper, I'd go for it)---/ No idea's for Text Based (PBP & MUD) that i'd like to play + No interest in a pure text based game/ Not enough friends & too shy to play LARP.
I think I have spent over 600 hours building and playing 4 characters in Demons Souls. Although there is no way to vote for a 1 player online (j)RPG this would be my top pick. 120 hours in Elder Scrolls: Oblivion (played game along side of wife) My wife just bought us Elder scrolls :Skyrim ( she takes command of the book and certain missions while I do the grindin') Spent close to 80 in Fallout 3 and that game still remains tops for most memorable moments. Just bought but have not played Mass Effect 2. Yeah, were addicted.
Played Advanced D&D for years and play a lot of single player RPGs. I have never played on-line games, never thought I would like them but I may some day.
Single-Player, specifically JRPG (WRPG just isn't my style. Too big and open. LOL). I have terrible Internet connection, so I can't do MMO (although I'd like to try WOW), I don't really do tabletop RPG, and I'm not really into roleplay (live, written, text-based, etc.). I like defining my characters on my own, not with interference from some random person (or even a friend) that pushes me in a direction I don't want to go.
I'm one of those who RPed on AOL chat a long, long time ago back in the days of RhyDin, The Vampire Castle, and The Vampire Tavern. I started in 1993 (probably when most of you were born! lol) My dev name is actually my old RP name on aol I've kept it, just in case someone might recognize it from back in the day. It was definitely a blast, and made me a better creative fiction writer. It was basically interactive improv fiction writing and I actually kind of miss it. I haven't RPed in about 12 or so years though. It was a blast
